Chika Ike Reveals Why Her Marriage Crashed.

Most people especially her fans and probably colleagues didn’t learn of Nollywood actress Chika Ike’s turbulent marriage until recently when allegations ranging from infidelity to physical assaults filtered into the air.

While the talented actress who tied the knot in 2006 in a lavish ceremony attended by her colleagues and the creme de la creme of the society is working on her divorce, she rues getting married at a young age.

‘Some people get married that young and have been able to make their marriages work. But if you’re young, you are young. There are some things you have not experienced. You might not be able to stay calm when you are supposed to stay calm, understand when you are supposed to understand or leave what you are supposed to leave. Also, I think these days, a lot of people are not happy in their Marriages.

I have a lot of friends who would have left their marriages but because of the African society, their in-laws, what people will say or other factors, they stay. We’ve heard a lot of deaths caused by bad marriages and before the death, there would have been signs, things would have been happening leading up to that. I think it has to do with age and so many other things like compatibility and not being true to yourself in the marriage. Everybody has a limit. There are some things in marriage that you might not be able to stand. Some people’s limit might not be my limit. My limit might be somebody’s starting point.’ pretty Chika Ike revealed.

Eight feminists flashed their breasts in the heart of Paris’s Notre Dame cathedral on Tuesday to celebrate Pope Benedict XVI’s shock resignation announcement. The members of the Femen movement entered the Gothic cathedral dressed in long coats which they whipped off inside while ringing three bells near the altar.
“Pope no more!” they cried. “No more homophobe” and “Bye bye Benedict!”

As scandalized visitors voiced their disapproval, the protestors were dragged out of the cathedral by security but remained outside for some time shouting “In gay we trust” and “Get out homophobe.”

Photo: Top Politician Arrested with EFCC ID Card; Impersonating Director of Ops

A former Kogi Central Senatorial candidate, Alhaji Abdulazeez Bello is being charged to court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on charges of impersonation and forgery.

49-year-old Bello, Olufamous.com gathered, was arrested by operatives of the State Security Services, SSS, at the Sheraton Hotels & Towers, Lagos, while impersonating the Director of Operations of the EFCC, Mr. Olaolu Adegbite, as seen in the ID card above.

He was at the hotel premises to further an advance fee fraud agenda targeted at Mrs Mercy Orji, wife of the Abia State governor, Mr. Theodore Orji. He reportedly posed as the EFCC’s Director of Operations with a fake identity card bearing the name of E. Adegbite.

Reports from the SSS indicated that Bello was arrested on January 27, 2013 while negotiating with some aides of his would-be victim. He was later handed over to the EFCC for prosecution.

At the EFCC’s office, the politician-turned conman claimed that he was working with certain Nelson Ndukwe and Chuks Offor, both aides of Mrs. Orji to perfect his nefarious agenda of swindling her.

“I’m sorry that I impersonated the Operations Director of the EFCC. I did it to be able to arrest Mrs. Orji’s assistants who are said to be working for her to launder money. It was my first time of doing this. EFCC should help me out of this”, he begged

She Went in Search of Love But Found Death Instead! Story of A Widow Killed by Lover for Money Ritual

Kafilat Lateef was a young woman of 36 years. Widowed five years ago and left with three children, she must have felt the absence of a companion which made her yield to the love overtures of Gbenga Taiwo, then a plank seller at Bodija market, Ibadan. Their paths had crossed over two years ago, as she was also a trader in foodstuffs at the same market.

Happy that she had found love again, Kafilat put in all she had into the relationship. Her family members were also happy that she was looking bright again. Putting her trust in the man she had had intimacy with several times since their relationship started, Kafilat did not think twice when Taiwo called her on January 19 , inviting her to Oyo town, where he had relocated since 2012. She returned to Ibadan on January 20 and went back to Oyo on January 21. He reportedly told her to come for the N50,000 he promised her.

Happy that she would be seeing her lover again, she went to Oyo, and when her sister called her later, she told her that she was with Taiwo at Idi Ope area of Oyo. She was given food and drinks, which she took with happiness, not knowing that she was drinking to her own death. Unknown to her, her drink had been laced with drug, which sent her to sleep, from where she slipped to death.

Information gathered from her lover, Taiwo, who had been arrested along with four others in connection with Kafilat’s death, revealed that immediately she became unconscious, the loverboy and his friends, Afeez Kareem and Lukman Ganiyu, who had already planned her death, clubbed her on the head with a digger, after which they put a kolanut in her mouth and buried her in a shallow grave already dug for the purpose.

The act was carried out in a house where Ganiyu was working as a security guard.

Sunday Tribune learnt that Taiwo was hellbent on becoming wealthy, not minding the means through which that would be achieved. He had reportedly approached an Islamic cleric, Mohammed Saheed, that he was interested in money ritual. Saheed claimed that he told Gbenga that he could not do such but gave him an alternative which could also yield money if done.

Saheed reportedly told him to put a kolanut in the mouth of the corpse of an elderly man or woman and bring it the following day after the kolanut must have dropped from the corpse’s mouth. To quicken the process, Gbenga decided to employ the services of prostitutes which he would kill to achieve his aim.

“However, when I approached prostitutes, I could not afford what they said I would pay if they should sleep in my house overnight. That was why I decided to make use of one of my numerous female friends,” Taiwo said. He further confessed that he tried two other lovers. He gave the names of his other lovers as Mama Iroko who came to him from Iroko, a surburb of Oyo town, and Mama Dada, a trader at Gbagi market whom he invited from Ibadan.

He disclosed that while Mama Iroko did not sleep after her drink was laced with drug, Mama Dada suspected his motive, especially when she noticed the shallow grave that was dug. According to him, “she did not sleep throughout the night and when it was daytime, she asked me whether it was good for me to think evil towards her. She left thereafter.”

Unfortunately, Kafilat became the victim, as she fell asleep after her drink was laced with drug. The following morning after she was buried, her suspected killers went to the graveside to take the kolanut as expected but to their consternation, there was none. They scrapped the earth off the remains and saw the kolanut still in the mouth of the corpse.

When the trio saw that their plan had not worked, they reportedly decided to dismember her remains after severing the head. They allegedly burnt the pieces and buried them in another shallow grave by a dumpsite behind the house where the dastardly act was committed. Taiwo confessed to the police that he took the head to a herbalist, one Adeyemi Adedokun a.k.a. Baba Agbadu to use it for money ritual for him.

Adedokun, however, denied being given the head, though he admitted that Taiwo brought the head to his house.

Also, Mohammed Saheed from Ilesa-Baruba in Kwara State, whom Taiwo alleged to have asked him to bring kolanut, denied telling him to kill someone, saying he was only tring to help. Saheed, who said he was a Quranic teacher, told Sunday Tribune, that Taiwo came to him for money ritual but claimed that he told him he was not into such things.

Saheed added that Taiwo also brought his friends Afeez and Lukman, who also wanted to do charms for authority and favour respectively.

According to Saheed, “I told him what our forefathers used to do with kolanut from the mouth of an elderly dead person, saying that if this is done, it would be found by the graveside by the following day.

“ I also told him that the deceased’s spirit would try to resist the kolanut being taken but if it could be forcefully taken, it would be used for a charm that would be bringing any fortune from wherever one may want.

“Three days after, he came back with the kolanut but told me that he did not find the kolanut by the graveside, so he had to exhume the corpse to take it.

“I sent him away that I would not be involved in such a thing because I had already told him that the kolanut should not be used on exhumed corpse, an accident victim or someone deliberately murdered.”

Sunday Tribune further gathered that Taiwo was a wanted suspect in Oyo State Police Command in relation with cases of robbery in which he was involved. He was said to have abandoned his wife and only child, relocating to Oyo from Ibadan immediately he knew there was a manhunt for him.

Police sources aslo told Sunday Tribune that Taiwo’s father had already disowned him as a result of the robbery cases he was allegedly involved in, unknown to him that he would still commit another crime. The father, Mr Joseph Taiwo, is said to be the pastor of God’s Foundation Church at Jakan area of Agbowo, Ibadan.

The Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Iyaganku who is currently investigating the case, Mrs Janet Agbede, told Sunday Tribune that policemen comprising of Oyo SARS operatives, detectives from CID and Durbar Division set to work when Kafilat’s family reported the case of their missing relation, after efforts to locate Kafilat proved abortive. The family members had told the police that two days after Kafilat left for her lover’s place in Oyo, her line was not going through.

They added that they later received a call from Kafilat’s line telling them that she had an accident in Lagos and was hospitalised in a general hospital but was disappointed when all efforts to locate Kafilat in any Lagos hospital proved abortive.

Describing the act of the suspects as callous and despicable, Mrs Agbede, advised women to be wary of men they regard as lovers so that they would not fall victim to evil-minded persons.

Sunday Tribune gathered that a pathologist has told police that the charred remains of the deceased would have to be taken abroad for autopsy and DNA. The cost was put at N1 million.

Is Heaven Happy? Lightning Strikes Vatican after Pope Resigned

Many have tried to 'decode' part of the Pope's tweet which says "We are all sinners". The mystery continued on Tuesday as a strange lightening struck the Vatican hours after Pope Benedict XVI shocked the world with his decision to leave office by the of February, 2013.

Olufamous.com gathered from credible international sources that the lightning touched the dome of St. Peter's Basilica, one of the holiest Catholic churches early Tuesday.

After the Pope's admission that he lacks strength to carry on, the Vatican said no specific medical condition prompted his decision to quit. No pope has resigned from office in the last 600 years.

Pope Benedict's action surprised even his closest aides.

But in recent years, the Pope has slowed down significantly, cutting back his foreign travel. He now goes to and from the altar in St Peter's Basilica on a moving platform, to spare him the long walk down the aisle.

Benedict said he would serve humanity for the remainder of his days "through a life dedicated to prayer."

OUR HONEYMOON WAS HELL: MY HUSBAND R*PES ME VIOLENTLY

The honeymoon period ended the day after we were married, six months from when we first met. After a little argument, John grabbed me by the waist and lifted me up against the wall.
He grabbed my hands and bent them backward, breaking one of my fingers. I was in shock. I was stunned. I was in serious pains.
A few hours after the incident, He broke into tears and told me how sorry he was. I loved him so much, so I believed him whenhe said it wouldn’t happen again. But life became hell after that.

For the next two months the abuse was nonstop. He kept me in a constant state of terror. I’m not a drinker, but he’d toss a bottle of beer in my face and say drink. He’d punch me in the stomach or kick me in
the thigh if I didn’t. I started walking on tiptoes around him, fearful of everything I’d say and do. But it didn’t matter; the abuse continued. He dislocated my shoulder several times.
He’d lift me up by the ankles and bang my head against the floor in the living room. A part of me
wanted to leave, but another part of me hesitated.

Somehow I felt I was partially responsible for the abuse. If I hadn’t made a particular comment or if I had just sipped the alcohol everything would have been OK.
And for the first few months he was apologetic after the beatings.
He’d say he felt very bad and that he didn’t mean to hit me so hard. He’d actually cry sometimes and show such remorse that I’d forget my own pain. He’d become romantic and sweet, and I’d fall in love with him all over again.I started to isolate myself from friends and family. I didn’t want them to know
about the violence.
I put on a happy face with my two kids and tried to act like things were fine. They knew
about the violence but didn’t know the severity.
When my mom wanted to see me, I’d lie, saying I was busy. I didn’t want her to see my bruises. I was
embarrassed. Sadly, the abuse worsened.
The rapes began about two months after we were married.

I was dressing for work when he came out of the shower and asked me where I was going. He didn’t wait for my answer. He threw me on the bed, sat on my stomach, pinned my arms up beside my head and ripped off my clothes."If you want sex, wait until I get home tonight" I said. You’ll do it when I want, and how I want, was his response.
It got worse after that. He would tie me up and put foreign objects such as necks of beer bottles into my v*g*na.

Five months into the marriage I endured beating after beating. While most of the assaults
were done when my children weren’t home, I was worried that they might step in and try to protect
me. If they did, they might get beaten, too. I began plotting our escape, but it was difficult. He had begun making threatening comments: You can never get far enough away from me. I will always find you. If I can’t have you, no one will.

I felt trapped. How I left? He had disappeared for three days. I didn’t know where he was. I thought he had been in an accident. I called his phone; he would answer but not say anything. He arrived home on the third night at about 1a.m. and immediately started screaming at me that he didn’t appreciate me trying to track him down.

We were in the sitting room and he grabbed the land-phone receiver and began to beat me in the face with it. His eyes were red and flashing like I’d never seen before. I ran to the bedroom, and he was right behind me. He picked me up over his head and threw me across the room twice. I broke my tailbone in the second fall.
My 6-year-old daughter woke up.She must have heard something and came to see what was
happening.
She just stood there, stunned. He looked at her and got scared for some reason. He
went into the bedroom and pack his things. I found my phone, fighting the pain from the broken bone, limped to the living room, I then called my father who took me away from
the house. Since then I have not set my eyes on John.

Please what should I do about this marriage?

His Vehicle Plunged Into The Lagoon...and He survived it!!!Meet The Driver,Shola Oladimeji

On the 26 of January 2013(some few weeks ago),there was widespread news and frenzy that a jeep had skidded off the Third Mainland Bridge and plunged into the Lagoon.Yes the story was true, but some facts were distorted and untrue.Meet the driver of the Toyota Sienna bus,SHOLA OLADIMEJI,as he recounts what really happened and how God saved his life...

                                          The Driver,Shola Oladimeji

I lost a friend last week thursday and it hit me so hard,I did not really enjoy the whole of last weekend. But two things happened last Sunday that cheered me up,I got to meet the driver whose bus plunged into the Lagoon some few weeks ago,and secondly...you can guess,Nigeria won the AFCON Cup!!!

I really did not feel like going to church last Sunday, but my spirit told me to attend the Sunday service.Just as we were about rounding up,our pastor asked the congregation a question..."how many of you heard the story about the driver whose car plunged into the Lagoon some few weeks ago...and survived"?..Almost everybody had their hands raised...including me.Our pastor further told us that the driver was in the congregation and would like to share the testimony of how God saved his life.

Shola Oladimeji(the driver) then came out and narrated how the accident happened and how God saved his life.Briefly,he said he couldnt remember exactly how the car skidded of the bridge, but he suddenly found himself at the bottom of the lagoon, whilst still in the car.A voice told him to keep calm and he did.He unhooked his seatbelt and found that he could open one of the doors. As he opened the door,he saw a ray of light and a voice told him to follow the light. He was like..."But I cant even swim".He obeyed anyways and up till the time of the testimony,he never knew how he swam to the top!!!

Upon emerging to the surface,Some fishermen saw him and took him out of the water into their boat...and they said to him..."Oga,this is a miracle, nobody has ever fallen into this lagoon and survived!!!"..
It simply had to be a divine intervention...the whole congregation stood up and praised the Living God.

And ofcourse, after the service,I caught up with Shola to"tap" some of that annointing that saved him from death that day...the Lord is surely good...all the time!!!

Husband, wife bag PhD same day in UNILAG

The couple were not born the same day. Neither did they attend the same primary and secondary schools. They are also not from the same state. The husband is from, Ilaje, Ondo State while the wife is from Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Fate and love for knowledge, however, brought them together at the University of Lagos. And because they are both made for scholarship, the two were among the students and distinguished Nigerians that were celebrated at the UNILAG’s Golden Jubilee Convocation last week.
The couple made history by becoming the first couple to bag a doctorate degree same day at UNILAG. The husband, Dr. Olusegun Samuel and his wife, Temitope, were rewarded with a PhD in marine ecology and botany respectively in front of an ecstatic crowd at the Multipurpose Hall of the institution, the venue of the ceremony.
They were not the only students so honoured. Twenty-two-year-old Ibok Favour Asuquo, emerged the overall best graduating student after obtaining a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.89 to bag a first class degree in accountancy. Also, Miss Babtony Flora, who got a CGPA of 4.88 out of a possible 5.0 and bagged a first class degree in psychology was also rewarded. The two also received a standing ovation from the audience – with prizes including cash, certificates and plaques from the university.
But the audience went wild with joy as soon as the institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Rahamon Bello, announced that a couple was among the 47 students that were being conferred with doctoral degrees in various disciplines at the event.
The crowd yelled, heads were turned and the couple instantly became the cynosure of all eyes at the ceremony. The audience, including the Minister of Education, Prof. Ruqquayyat Rufa’I, who represented President Goodluck Jonathan; the Pro-Chancellor, Deacon Gamaliel Onosode, principal officers of UNILAG, including the Registrar, Mr. Olu Sodimu; parents, students and newsmen all wanted to catch a glimpse of the brainy couple.
